The pre-text proof of Steinlen's poster for the La Bodinière exhibition hall of the Theâtre d'Application, which offered a variety of attractions from art exhibits by Paris's avant garde artists to shadow plays. Monsieur Bodinière opened his gallery to support Parisian avant garde artists. This successful exhibition of works by Steinlen was the inaugural show. Steinlen chose a horizontal format for this exhibition poster, in which he delicately depicts two of his beloved cats.
